Boxtops For Education Note To Parents

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends,

We have several different ways to help our school this year.  We are participating in the Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education (offered by Campbells and participating companies).  A new way to help our school is to save and send in your empty pouch drinks and Lay’s chip bags.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION:

The Box Tops program offers three easy ways to earn cash for our school through everyday activities such as buying groceries, shopping online, and purchasing books.  Also, if you sign up online on the website  www.btfe.com , you will be able to enter for chances to win bonus box tops for our school.

You can clip Box Top coupons from hundreds of participating products and send them to the school with your child.  Each Box Top coupon is worth 10 cents each when our school redeems these box tops.  Last year we raised around $1000.00 for box tops and we would like to exceed that amount this year.

We have a new monthly contest for the 1st and 2nd place classes that send in the most box tops.  The class that sends in the most for the month will be rewarded with a popsicle party.  The class in second place will get Boxie the Bear visiting in their classroom for the entire month. In addition to that, the PTO sponsors a PIZZA PARTY for the class that collects the most Box Tops from August to December and from January to May.  The monthly totals are added for each class to determine the two winners.  Box Tops may be submitted in envelopes or zip-lock bags.  Please  make sure the child’s name and classroom are marked on the bags so that they can get contest credit when we count the Box Tops.

We continue to collect Box Tops year round, so keep on saving them for our school.  Sometimes grocery stores offer bonus coupons for Box Tops if you purchase a set number of items.  Don’t forget to have family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors help to collect for our school.  It is a simple way to help support Southside Elementary.

LABELS FOR EDUCATION

We also participate in Labels for education.  Collect your soup labels,  and other specifically marked items and send them in to the school.  New items were added this year for many more ways to save.  These count as points and can be redeemed for items from www.labelsforeducation.com .  We will continue to collect to accumulate as many of these as we can.   It all goes to help support our school.

TERRACYCLE RECYCLING PROJECT

We have also started saving empty Capri Sun and Koolaid pouch drinks (with straws removed) and are also saving Lay’s chip bags.  There are many kinds of chips that fall under the Lay’s chip family.  Just check the back of the bag to see if it qualifies.  We have donation areas set up within the school, and you can also send these with your child.  We receive cash back for each item we send in for this.  This program has just been started here and we seem to be having great success.

Thank you for your participation in helping our school.
